I had the incredible misfortune of ordering the Elite Screens Tripod Portable Projection Screen, 4:3 Aspect Ratio-84in (Max White) initially. When I received that screen I was greatly disappointed in it for many reasons. It was cheaply made, the stand was flimsy, the screen had noticeable and distracting full-width horizontal lines in it and the locking mechanism was cheap, cheesy, felt and looked like it would snap at any moment. It was made in China. I returned it.

I decided to pay somewhat more for a more highly regarded screen and chose the Da-Lite 84" PictureKing 4:3 Video Tripod Screen. I could not be happier. This screen is so worth the extra money I wish I had just gotten it in the first place. It is truly a professional quality screen made of the highest quality materials. You can immediately see and feel the difference even as you are simply pulling it out of the box.

Everything about this screen is better than the Elite screen. The screen material is thicker and has absolutely no horizontal lines in it. The tripod legs are substantial, extruded not stamped and have a locked position which is unlocked with a toe-release. The elite screen did not have any of this and the legs were cheaply stamped metal, not extruded and very wobbly. Once deployed, the legs on the Da-Lite screen are very stable and secure. The carry handle is solid and heavy duty. The combination of locking pins in combination with the heavy-duty locking knob ensure this screen will not collapse unexpectedly.

The entire Da-Lite screen is built like a tank whereas the Elite screen was very flimsy feeling and a piece of junk compared to the Da-Lite.

To top it all off, the Da-Lite screen is totally made in the USA. whereas the Elite screen was made in China.

You will not regret buying this screen. Do not waste your time or money even considering the Elite Screen. For the difference in cost you will be richly rewarded with a quality product that will definitely outlast and out perform the Elite screen in every way.
