Works well with the D5100 Nikon that I had bought it for. Took some great shots of the rising moon over Waikiki here in Hawaii. Thought you couldn't use it hand held, but if you brace yourself and have the setting just right you can. Plan on using it for the up coming north shore winter swell and when the hump back whales return for their winter vacation in the islands. Have taken some great shots at night with a tri pod to aid in keeping the camera steady during long lens opening, friends have all been very impressed with the photos I have taken with it. Only down side was that when it arrived I had to pay a little more shipping cost to the postman ($5.37) but over all it is well worth the price I had paid. I'm not a pro, but am an avid amateur that enjoys taking pictures. Would recommend to someone that doesn't want to spend a whole lot of money, but has an understanding of how to use more than just a 'point and shoot' camera.
