Just returned from a trip from Michigan to The Dominican Republic and back and as a carry on this case performed perfectly.I found no problems with its size whatsoever AND noted people having trouble with their carry on(larger) luggage and stowing overhead. So if you stick to this particular model # you will be just fine.I only had to open it 1 time.As for the insert.....It didn't hold shape and the zipper kept separating :(
I needed a TSA approved(and airline)hard case for my expensive camera equipment WITH wheels. Started with Pelican(and a few others)but man they are expensive AND they need some help in the Improvement area as they have not changed in decades !
Enter HPRC:They may well have taken designs from Pelican BUT HPRC has improved on the whole hard plastic case thing AND for THEY HAVE DONE IT SUPERBLY !
The only Pelican cases I could find were WAYYYYY more expensive and considerably heavier and NO wheels.
SOOOOO... I stumbled upon these Italian made cases and WOW !
I will definitely report more after my international trip BUT this thing screams quality and is quite slick looking to boot.
I can actually stand on it(I'm a 6 foot 200 pounder) !
My only gripe is I also ordered HPRC made accessories for inside the case and was disappointed at the sub par make,design and expense of the internal bag.
