My status: Professional amateur. My equipment, Canon EOS 1D IIN, 2 580EXs, & the microsync system. I purchased a mono female 1/4 plug from radio shack(3.99)and I spliced it to a mono plug (or whatever port your flash has) that plugs directly into my flashes. Works flawlessly. Successfully fired strobes from at least 90 feet...For my purposes (portrait, wedding photography) this is more than adequate...Love the size of the transmitter, looks very professional on my setup. The recievers are a little bigger than expected(pocket wizard sized), but who cares they will be tethered to my flash lightstands. So far no trouble with the "occassional misfires" I have read on the web. Would reccommend to anyone wanting to take their photography to the next level....
