This is a great solution for anyone going on vacation and wanting to take pictures of underwater adventures. It would not be practical to buy a customized case if you do not snorkel or dive frequently. This costs much less, and if you decide to take another tropical vacation in a few years it will work with your new compact digital camera if you don't have the same model.
However if you call the tropics home and are a frequent diver/swimmer, the housing case is limited. There are only 2 buttons on top. One for on/off switch and the other for the shutter. After a while I get bored with just picture taking and want to capture video of the team or family members I'm diving with. A more customized housing case will allow you to take videos and select different modes.
So if you just want pics of your kids swimming or your once in a lifetime Hawaii trip, go for it.
